DofE residential in the Happy Valley, Morocco 2015!

DAY 7

Today was a special day for the group as it was Tanishk's 18th birthday. After being woken up with a birthday song we all headed off to our last day with the Berber families. The boys got the opportunity to continue helping build the wall they started on the first day. This time the boys got into a rhythm and found it much easier. They were welcomed back with open arms and really enjoyed working with the same men again. Meanwhile the girls helped with the washing, grass cutting and cleared an animal pen before enjoying a siesta. The most memorable thing about this family was the amount of food they offered us leading to another tagine battle between the boys and girls.

Towards the end of the day we all went to our chef, Omar's house where the girls enjoyed having henna done on their hands and feet.

In the evening, things cranked up a gear for Tanishk's birthday party! Paper hats, music and a full platter of chicken as a birthday cake, as well as a very rigged game of pass the parcel ending with Tanishk's birthday present of a toy camel. After some more fun and games we went back to our rooms to pack our bags, ready for Marrakech the next day.
